However, to achieve this glowing look, you must develop a consistent Korean skincare routine – and stick to it! By selecting products that work for your skin type and staying true to your routine, you can see visible results even after the first week.
The Korean skincare routine consists of 10 steps and features a variety of products. Still, if you’re new to it, it can definitely feel a bit daunting. For that reason, we’ve created a short version you can easily follow to achieve your desired results.
4-Step Korean Skincare Routine
-
Double-Cleansing
[MANYO FACTORY] Pure Cleansing Oil
As always, your skincare routine starts with a cleanser, only this time you’ll double its power!
Firstly, start cleaning your face with an oil-based cleanser. This kind of cleanser effortlessly removes makeup, sunscreen, excess oil, and any impurities that have developed during the day. Typically, you’re supposed to squeeze a dime-sized amount and rub it across a dry face, finally rinsing it off with lukewarm water.
Of course, some of you may believe that oil-based K-beauty cleansers aren’t suitable for acne-prone skin since oils are known to clog pores. Interestingly, that isn’t exactly the case! Most oil-based cleansers are non-comedogenic, meaning they won’t clog your pores. Instead, they work deeply into the skin, ensuring any buildup is effectively removed. Additionally, since these cleansers need time to be fully absorbed, it’s best to use them in your nighttime skincare routine.
Once you rinse off the oil-based cleanser, you’ll need to apply a water-based one next. These remove any water-based impurities such as excess oil and sweat. When choosing this cleanser, be sure to pick a gentle formula with a neutral pH, as some can be quite harsh on the skin.
-
Toning
Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner
After thoroughly cleansing the face, it’s time for the next step of your skincare routine – toning.
When it comes to toners, you can choose one depending on your needs. For instance, if you’re prone to blemishes and redness, you should pick a toner that can combat these issues.
In any case, toners provide deep nourishment to the skin and restore its natural pH balance. It also sets the stage for the next part of your skincare routine – moisturization

Moisturizing
[ILLIYOON] Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream (150mL/5.07fl.oz)
This is undoubtedly the most important step of a Korean skincare routine. The secret behind glassy skin lies in moisturizers, but you have to be careful to pick one that suits your skin type.
In essence, you should look for nourishing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid or Niacinamide. While the former helps lock moisture and collagen and improves skin elasticity, the latter erases aging signs and strengthens the skin barrier.
Whatever you choose, know that moisturizing plays a key role in making your skin radiant and plump. In other words, skipping out on hydration is a big no!
-
Sunscreen
Even if this is your first time starting a skincare routine, you’re probably aware of how harmful the sun can be. While limited exposure is perfectly fine, you mustn’t go out without putting on sunscreen even if it’s cloudy outside!
In addition to sun protection, sunscreen also creates a protective barrier over your skin, keeping it safe from outside environmental agents. Consider getting a compact one since reapplications are necessary every two hours, especially in the summer when the sun is in full blast.
With these 4 skincare routine steps, your skin will be flawless. Remember – consistency is key, so don’t skip out on any steps.
